9 Flowers That Bloom Year-Round
Fortunately, the following flowers will not lose their charm. Thanks to their tolerance for colder temperatures, these beauties can thrive all year long (as long as you’re not in an area with extreme weather). Even better, many of them are low maintenance and as easy to care for as any other plant. Here’s a list of nine flowers that bloom year-round, perfect for your home, garden, or anywhere you'd like to display them.

Begonia

Begonias are a year-round delight as long as you provide them with the right care. These flowers prefer spots with plenty of indirect light, and they need regular watering—three times a week during summer and once every 10 days in winter. To help your begonias thrive throughout the year, place a shallow plate of water under their pots so they can absorb humidity from the air.

Lavender

Lavender, beloved by both humans and pollinators, can bloom all year, filling your home with its lovely purple flowers and natural fragrance. However, if you plant lavender in your garden, be cautious as it can grow quickly and crowd out other plants. Lavender’s delicate flowers and fragrant leaves have made it a favorite among interior designers as well.

African Violet

The African violet is a charming flower that adds an elegant touch to any room. It blooms year-round, making it a perfect addition to your space. To keep it blooming throughout the year, be mindful of its needs—water it three times a week in warmer months and every two weeks in winter.

Verbena

Verbena is known for its beautiful flowers, often vibrant in spring and summer, but with proper care, it can continue blooming almost until the first frost. To ensure it stays healthy, plant it in an area with plenty of indirect sunlight.

Geranium

Geraniums are famous for their bold, vibrant colors, and they’re relatively easy to care for. Water them daily during the summer, and every third day in winter. For continuous blooms, add fertilizer once a month, and you’ll enjoy their flowers year-round.

Penta

Pentas, with their delicate branches and clusters of small white, pink, red, or lilac flowers, are hardy enough to bloom even during colder months. They require minimal care, needing to be watered three times a week and planted in well-drained soil.

Purslane

This succulent species brightens any interior with its yellow flowers, which also have medicinal benefits. Purslane blooms year-round as long as it's placed in a moderate temperature environment, watered once or twice a week depending on the weather, and given plenty of direct sunlight each day.

Lantana

A staple in landscaping, lantana is a flowering shrub that blooms year-round in frost-free zones, where it’s considered a perennial. Even in colder climates, lantana blooms from planting all the way to the first frost. Its tiny tubular flowers appear in clusters of red, pink, yellow, orange, purple, and white—sometimes even in multicolor variations.

Craspedia

Craspedia, also known as billy button, sun ball, golf beauty, drumstick, and woolly head, is a unique flower with a globe-like shape atop a bare stem. This flower blooms year-round in warmer climates and consists of many golden-yellow florets. Both pollinators and florists love craspedia for its whimsical appearance, especially in bouquets or dried arrangements due to its hardy stalk and striking shape.
